Member Responsibilities
Arlberg is run by its members, and everyone plays a part in keeping the lodge safe, welcoming and running smoothly. Please take a few minutes to read the responsibilities below before your stay.
-
Bring your own warm bedding.
Pillow slips must be used on all club-supplied pillows.
Take a good torch, especially if you expect to arrive after dark or in poor weather.
If you're sponsoring guests, you're responsible for them throughout their stay.
Senior members may sponsor up to five non-members. Booking procedures are covered separately.
If you cancel at the last minute, please let the Lodge Officer and/or Booking Secretary know.
-
Write your name on the correct bunk using the whiteboard marker provided and remove it when you leave.
A Lodge Officer must be appointed for every stay, regardless of group size. Lodge Officer instructions are located in the blue folder, on the bathroom walls, and on the noticeboard.
Check the duty roster on arrival and complete any duties assigned by the Lodge Officer.
The lodge list can be downloaded from the booking system.
During the ski season, the main door operates on a day lock. The access code is provided in your booking confirmation email.
-
Be Considerate
Respect other members and guests at all times.
Keep noise to a minimum, especially after midnight, except on designated party weekends.
The lodge is a strictly no-smoking environment.
Duties
Everyone is expected to complete their assigned duties.
Help where you can, even if it's not your allocated task.
Prepare the pantry stocktake, enter it into the computer, and email it to food@arlberg.co.nz on Saturday or Sunday.
Meals
Lunch is not normally included in your lodge fees.
You may use leftovers from the fridge with the Lodge Officer's approval.
Do not take food from the pantry to the mountain.
Drying Rooms
Use the upstairs drying room when there are low numbers staying. Turn the dehumidifier on only when required and switch it off afterwards.
Use the downstairs drying room for boots, wet outerwear, or when there are more than ten people staying.
-
Never switch off the heating.
Do not switch off the pantry fridges to defrost them.
Never turn off the 24-hour light switch. Only use the A and B light switches.
Do not touch the telephone switch. If it's turned off, incoming calls can't be heard.
The phone is toll barred. Any toll calls must be made collect.
Read the Food Procedures, Emergency Procedures and other information in the Members Handbook.
-
Always leave the lodge clean and tidy.
Ensure all external doors and windows are closed and locked.
During the ski season, leave the main door on day lock.
If you're the last person leaving, check all windows, doors and electrical switches before locking up.
If you leave earlier than planned and no one else will be staying, notify the Booking Secretary so incoming guests aren't left without access.
-
You're welcome to use the lodge during the day, but please be considerate of members who have booked accommodation.
Tea and coffee are fine, however if you use lodge facilities such as showers or consume meals, a contribution towards costs should be made.
-
If you have any questions or concerns about the lodge or the club, please contact the appropriate committee member rather than the Booking Secretary.
