Member Code of Conduct
Arlberg is a member-run, family-friendly ski club built on respect, cooperation and a shared love of the mountain. Everyone plays a part in creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for members and guests.
This Code of Conduct sets out the standards we expect from everyone using the lodge and participating in club activities.
Respect for Others
Members and guests are expected to:
Treat others with respect, courtesy and consideration.
Help create a welcoming environment for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Behave responsibly and avoid conduct that may make others feel unsafe, intimidated or uncomfortable.
Respect other people's belongings, privacy and enjoyment of the lodge.
Being Part of Club Life
Arlberg is run by its members rather than paid staff. Everyone staying at the lodge is expected to contribute.
This includes:
Completing allocated lodge duties.
Following the direction of the Lodge Officer where required.
Helping keep shared spaces clean and tidy.
Respecting club property, facilities and equipment.
Following lodge procedures and leaving the lodge ready for those arriving after you.
Participating positively in the cooperative spirit of the club.
Health & Safety
Everyone staying at Arlberg must follow the club's health and safety procedures and any reasonable instructions given by the Lodge Officer or committee.
Members and guests are expected to familiarise themselves with emergency procedures, fire safety, lodge access and any other information relevant to a safe stay.
Guests
Members are responsible for ensuring any guests they bring to Arlberg understand and respect the club's rules and expectations.
Guests who are staying without an existing member sponsor must be inducted by an experienced member staying at the lodge so they understand how the club operates, including lodge duties, meals, health and safety, emergency procedures and opening or securing the lodge.
Children
Arlberg is a family-friendly club and children are encouraged to be part of club life.
Children must be 5 years or older to stay at the lodge, except during our designated Baby Weeks, which are held twice each year and welcome younger children and babies.
Parents and caregivers remain responsible for the supervision and behaviour of children in their care and should ensure they understand and follow lodge rules appropriate to their age.
If There Is a Problem
We recognise that from time to time concerns or disagreements may arise. Wherever possible, these should be addressed respectfully and constructively.
Serious or repeated concerns about behaviour may be referred to the committee for review.
Where a member's behaviour is inconsistent with this Code of Conduct, club rules or the club's constitution, the committee may take appropriate action in accordance with those rules. This may include suspension or termination of membership where warranted.
Our Shared Responsibility
Arlberg has been built, maintained and enjoyed by generations of members. By treating each other with respect, lending a hand and looking after the lodge, we can ensure it remains a welcoming place for generations to come.
By becoming or remaining a member of Arlberg Ski Club, members are expected to understand and follow this Code of Conduct.
